Over the past three decades, manufacturing and distribution output has seen a steady increase. While this is true, the majority of Americans have not realized that U.S. manufacturing and distribution jobs have also disappeared.
In an article from Pew Research Center author Drew Desilver writes, “Manufacturing jobs in the United States have declined considerably over the past several decades, even as manufacturing and distribution output-the value of goods and products manufactured in the U.S.- has grown strongly”.
In the article Desilver discusses:
- The consensus around the manufacturing and distribution industry according to different Americans
- What the numbers say
- Doing more with less
Desilver continues, “The simultaneous increase in manufacturing and distribution output and decline in manufacturing and distribution jobs over the long term shows that American manufacturers distributors have become far more productive than they were three decades ago”. Is your manufacturing and distribution company seeing a boost in productivity with less workers?
