Employee Spotlight: Lisa Johnson

Lisa joined the De Boer Baumann team in 2010. She was one of our initial hires when the South Haven office first opened! Lisa received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Western Michigan University before joining DBC. She handles bookkeeping and tax preparation for business clients as well as payroll for the South Haven office.

Her favorite thing about working for De Boer Baumann & Company is the team; her colleagues feel like a family. Having such a deep level of trust and appreciation for one another makes the job easier even in stressful times. “And, of course,” Lisa says, “working with people you like certainly makes the job more enjoyable!” Her co-workers say Lisa is quiet and reserved, but that she brings an amazing calmness to the South Haven office.

Lisa and her husband Adam have been married since November 2019. Lisa says, “I not only gained an amazing husband but two wonderful kids in Kamden and Kaelan.”  Lisa loves living in South Haven because it’s a beautiful town in its own right, but also because it allows her to be near family. Her favorite thing about living in Michigan overall is the fall season. “I love all of the colorful leaves on the trees and the cooler weather!”

Lisa is currently looking forward to bringing her new puppy home. She says, “He was just born on March 5 and he’s so tiny and adorable!” While a new puppy will definitely take up a lot of her spare time, Lisa wishes she had more time to read. “I love to read but can’t really find the time for it. But if I had more free time, I’d probably spend it with my family anyway. They’re awesome!”
